mentor and coach to leaders and future leaders in mathematics education
Kaneka is experienced in guiding leaders to find their voices and lead. She started a 21 year journey in education as a classroom teacher and later a math coach and elementary math specialist. She served in one of the nation's largest urban districts. Kaneka's coaching efforts were recognized for state gains in student achievement. After 18 years of service in public education while also serving districts nationwide as an independent professional learning facilitator, Kaneka established ReImage consulting. ReImage exists to rewrite the negative narrative of math education for students and teachers and to promote and develop mathematics education leaders. Kaneka is a natural connector with a heart for advocacy in math education.

Mentorship and coaching can take many forms. After I listen to and observe the needs of a district, school site, or classroom leader, we create a plan of action and I am there each step of the way.
